During the installation of transformers, attention should be paid to the following details to ensure the correctness and safety of the installation:
1、 Installation position and fixing method
Choose a suitable location: The transformer should be installed in a location that is easy to maintain, free from strong vibrations and impacts, and away from high temperatures, humidity, and corrosive gases to ensure measurement accuracy and service life.
Secure fixation: The transformer must be firmly fixed on the bracket or foundation to prevent it from loosening or falling off during operation due to vibration or external forces. The fixing method can be chosen according to the on-site installation environment and the style of the transformer, such as using anchor screws to fix it to the wall or floor, or embedding angle iron into a rectangular frame in the wall or floor before installing the transformer.
2、 Wiring and polarity
Correct wiring: The wiring of the transformer must be correct and must not have the wrong polarity. The primary winding is connected in series with the circuit under test, and the secondary winding is connected in series with the electrical measuring instrument. In a three-phase circuit, the transformation ratio and capacity of each phase current transformer should be the same to ensure measurement accuracy.
Secondary side treatment: Open circuit is not allowed on the secondary side of the current transformer, otherwise high voltage will be generated, endangering personal and equipment safety. For dual secondary current transformers, if only one secondary circuit is used, the other secondary winding should be short circuited and reliably grounded. At the same time, the secondary side of low-voltage current transformers may not be grounded in certain situations (such as low-voltage metering devices), but it should be ensured that the insulation level and maximum voltage withstand of the entire device are basically the same.
3、 Grounding and Safety
Grounding of the casing: The metal exposed part of the transformer casing should be reliably grounded to improve the safety and anti-interference ability of the equipment.
Safe operation: During the installation process, it is necessary to strictly follow the safety operation regulations, wear protective equipment, and prevent electric shock and mechanical injury. When installing with electricity, more attention should be paid to safety and insulation protection measures should be taken.
4、 Other details
Cleaning and inspection: Before installation, the transformer should be cleaned and inspected to ensure that there is no damage or foreign objects falling into the cut surface of the iron core. After installation, the wiring should be checked again for firmness and good contact.
Nameplate observation: The same group of current transformers should be installed in the same direction to ensure that the positive direction of the current is consistent, and the information on the nameplate should be easily observed as much as possible.
Pay attention to the number of through holes: When the current is small (generally less than 100A), the number of through holes of the current transformer should be noted. If the number of through holes is 2, the current wire should pass through the transformer twice, and so on.
In summary, the details of the installation process of transformers involve multiple aspects such as installation position, fixing method, wiring and polarity, grounding and safety. Only by strictly following the specifications can the normal operation and measurement accuracy of the transformer be ensured.
