working principle:

Rogowski coil: Based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, when the measured current passes through the center of the Rogowski coil along the axis, a corresponding magnetic field will be generated in the volume surrounded by the annular winding, thereby inducing an AC voltage signal proportional to the rate of change of the current in the coil. After being processed by an integrator, an output voltage proportional to the measured current can be obtained.

Magnetoelectric resistor: operates based on the magnetoresistance effect, which means that when a magnetic field acts on a magnetoresistance material, its resistance value changes. By measuring the change in resistance value, the magnetic field strength or current magnitude can be indirectly measured.

Structural features:

Rogowski coil: usually has a hollow annular structure, and the coil is uniformly and symmetrically wound on a non-magnetic material with several turns of wire. This structure gives the Rogowski coil advantages such as no magnetic saturation, good linearity, and fast dynamic response.

Magnetoelectric resistor: Its structure usually includes magnetoresistance material, electrodes, and magnetic field induction parts. The selection and preparation process of magnetoresistance materials have a significant impact on the performance of sensors.

Application scenarios:

Rogowski coil: mainly used for measuring large AC currents, such as current measurement, harmonic analysis, fault detection, etc. in power systems. Its characteristics of no magnetic saturation, good linearity, and fast dynamic response make it widely applicable in these fields.

Magnetoelectric resistors are more suitable for measuring physical quantities such as magnetic field strength, current direction, or position. It has a wide range of applications in electronic circuits, magnetic field detection, position sensors, and other fields.
